  Arrived at 6 pm. Ordered and waited. Around 630 asked about dinner. 645 asked about dinner again. At 7 we told the hostess we were leaving and out dinner appeared within minutes. A miracle. Apology was lame, "they were busy." They weren't. Tuna sushi was disappointing and my wife's shrimp had obviously been sitting for awhile. Portions were small, no bread or salad. We chose this place because of the reviews so I guess we went on the wrong day and ordered the wrong things. Sadly we won't ever know if it could be better because we won't be back. You can do better in Manteo. 2 stars cause we had a nice view and we're able to enjoy it for a very long time.

  Nice setting, beautiful waterfront view, terrific service, and fantastic food! I sampled catered food from here a few years ago at an OBX chamber event. It was great then, so when I stumbled on to the actual restaurant, I had to try it. I was not disappointed. A new favorite for sure. Blackened Rockfish was to die for.

  We have eaten here multiple times and the food is fantastic! The views are incredible! We also just booked our wedding reception here and the service and support we've received is outstanding! Can't say enough good things about The Avenue!
